The products with "-U" model name are sold by Sekonic's USA distributor for the American market. The FCC standard is applied to them. Meters not bearing the "U" designation are meant to be sold outside of the USA.
Each distributor in each country has its own warranty period and warranty policy for Sekonic products. If you purchase Sekonic products from non-authorized shops in each country, you can not obtain service under warranty from the distributor. Please be sure to purchase from an authorized dealer or distributor.
